While every stage of construction is important for stable functioning of the structures, the importance of the maintenance and management is also increasingly stressed along with that of time. This calls for the technological advancement in the safety diagnostics of structures, and therefore the establishment of the standards for diagnostic technology and safety facilities.

In this respect, our institute looks to contribute to the establishment of the structural safety culture by conducting studies and developing technologies in the areas of structural safety diagnoses and assessments, maintenance and management, and repair and reinforcement, and through helping to elevate the status of technicians and promoting information exchanges among the members. Korea Institute for Structural Maintenance and Inspection is an association of the technicians and engineers engaged in the entire areas related to structures, and makes efforts to promote knowledge among the public on civil engineering and construction and to contribute to the development of the related technologies.
